Frequently Asked Questions

How many others will there be?

Maximum 14, minimum 8. Special arrangements can be made for personalised group or individual itineraries or should you wish to extend your stay.

For more information, go to Concierge Service.

How do I get there?

By air, the most convenient airport is Pisa Galileo Galilie, which has connections to most European capitals and a direct service to New York. Your travel agent will be able to give you more details on flights and connections depending on the airline you are flying. For those already in Europe and travelling by train or car our travel agent will co-ordinate a rendezvous point in Lucca for us to meet you or provide you with directions to the villa you are staying at.

What will the weather be like?

May is the last month of spring and is mild and warm but evenings may be cool, September is the first month of autumn and is warm to hot and generally dry but with cool evenings. We recommend that you check an Italian weather site such as http://www.ilmeteo.it/ for a seven day forecast for Localita (Locality) Lucca prior to your departure.

What is the accommodation like?

Our villas are private residences and not hotels. They have been selected because they are privately owned by people that we know personally. The villas are charming, beautiful and well appointed.

We have two villas that we have access too, a villa at San Marario in Monte which is a large villa on a country estate where the accommodation is within the main villa and a villa at San Pancrazio, a famous historic villa where the accommodation is in one of the beautiful residences attached to the main villa.

Bedrooms are either double bedrooms or twin-shared bedrooms, with single accommodation available at a supplement. Most bedrooms have a large spacious shared bathroom (usually two bedrooms will share one bathroom), some have ensuites. The actual configuration will depend on the Villa you will be staying in.

Are meals included?

All meals at the villa are included in the cost. This includes all breakfasts, and most lunches and dinners. Wine and water are always included with meals at the villa as well as refreshments such as coffee, tea and juices, which are provided at the villa you are staying at.

Meals and drinks outside of the villa are not included except where they are specifically noted as being included in the itinerary.
